Lofton's History

Since 1979, Lofton has built a reputation on providing staffing solutions that companies can rely on to make their businesses more efficient, cost-effective and profitable. Our founder, Mr. Thomas I. Lofton, spent more than fifteen years in human resources management in the chemical industry. Utilizing his experience, he began his own temporary help company as a franchise of a large national company. That two-room office has grown over the last 30 years to the largest locally owned, independent staffing and security company in Louisiana, boasting seven offices in Louisiana and three offices in Texas, with our corporate office located in Baton Rouge. In 2000, Lofton became completely independent and changed its name to reflect the entrepreneur who began our business.

Lofton is a family owned business, now in its second generation of ownership by Tommy Lofton's sons, Bret and Bart Lofton, who were named Co-Presidents in 2002. Tommy Lofton remained as Chairman until 2006 when he retired. Through the brothers' leadership, Lofton Staffing and Lofton Security employ over 8,000 assignment employees and security officers, supported by over 100 corporate internal staff, providing our employees and clients with the resources they need at a moment's notice.
